Families United Against Fentanyl Summit

At the Summit

When you attend the Families United Against Fentanyl Summit, you step into a room filled with people who truly understand your grief and share in your pain. You will hear from families who walk through heartbreak every day, just like you. You’ll learn from advocates who have dedicated over 20 years to this fight, lending both wisdom and hope. You’ll hear directly from a local sheriff whose officers are on the frontlines, witnessing the impact of fentanyl and other substances from countless perspectives. You’ll also have the chance to meet with several trauma-informed resources, services, and connections to help families heal and build stronger support networks. And beyond that, you’ll experience something even greater — connection, compassion, and the strength that comes when we unite our voices for change.

Families Against Fentanyl Submissions

In Honor of Kiki Camarena

Our Families United Against Fentanyl Summit is held not only in remembrance of our loved ones, but also in honor of DEA Special Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena.

In 1985, Agent Camarena was kidnapped, tortured, and murdered by traffickers. His sacrifice sparked what became Red Ribbon Week, igniting a national movement against drugs and the devastation they cause.

We find it deeply fitting to acknowledge his legacy here. Kiki Camarena lit the torch in the fight against drug trafficking, and that torch now burns through families like ours—families who have lost children, siblings, and loved ones to fentanyl and other substances. His courage continues to inspire us to press forward, carrying the mission he began: protecting lives and building safer communities.
