Melissa Mortland is a versatile leader, strategic thinker, and dedicated mother with a passion for process improvement, community engagement, and operational excellence. A Pensacola native, she is best described as a passionate optimist with a tenacious spirit for both her family and her community.
Melissa holds a Dual Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Management and Comprehensive Marketing, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of West Florida. Her diverse educational background equips her with a unique blend of business acumen, strategic planning, and an in-depth understanding of human behavior, making her an asset in leadership and decision-making.
With experience spanning both the service industry and corporate environments, Melissa has successfully led process improvement initiatives by analyzing workflows, identifying opportunities, and enhancing operational efficiencies. Her expertise in strategic development allows her to take an organization’s vision and transform it into reality, driving both profitability and functionality. She is known for fostering collaboration and innovative thinking while maintaining a practical, results-driven approach to execution.
Currently serving as an Accounts Payable Specialist and Inventory Control Receiver at Everman Natural Foods, a National Co+op Grocer, Melissa has led the renovation of supply chain and accounting payable/receiving processes. She is also working with leadership and NCG to establish more local and organic-friendly vendors, expanding product offerings while keeping costs low for members. Previously, as a Project Coordinator for Gulf Winds Credit Union, she played a pivotal role in launching the online banking system, a new lending platform, and other strategic initiatives.
Beyond her professional career, Melissa is deeply involved in her community. She is a proud member of The Junior League of Pensacola and the Pensacola Women’s Alliance and actively volunteers with local nonprofit organizations. As a mother of two daughters, she gracefully balances the joys and challenges of parenting while staying committed to mentorship, leadership, and giving back. Her ultimate goal is to leave a lasting, fearless legacy for both her daughters and her community.
